Peps' Reading List: Weekly Manga Update

Here's this week's manga update from my reading list.

Naruto  Chapter 568: The Four Tails: The Sage King of the Apes
The four tailed beast has Naruto between its teeth.  As Naruto struggles to keep himself from getting swallowed whole, Kakashi and Gai are pinned by the other tailed beasts from different directions.  Using a clone, Kakashi instructs Gai that they each take one side.  They deal with a wave of enemy attack and prepare to face another, hoping to eventually help Naruto in his struggle.  Ko tries to help Naruto by attacking the four tailed beast, reaching out to the nine tailed beast to once again help Naruto like he did during the fight with Madara.  The nine tailed beast remembers how he has been treated the same time and again, but he remembers Naruto's words about taking his hatred away.  Naruto loses control in his struggle not to get crushed.  He gets swallowed but somehow ends up in front of the chained and angry four tailed beast.  Angry at being called the four tailed beast, it tells Naruto that his name is Son Goku.  Son is somehow calmed by Naruto's honesty, realizing that he wasn't there to steal Son's power since he already had a tailed beast inside of him.  He berates Naruto for not knowing that the nine tailed beast's name is Kurama.  Albeit surprised, Naruto is happy to know the name of the beast that lived inside him.  Naruto tells Son that he knows how the tailed beast feels, being shunned and misunderstood his entire life, but he also tells Son that he is proud of being Naruto.  He tells Son why he wants to defeat Tobi and free the tailed beast from his control.  When asked what he wants to do with the tailed beasts, Naruto answers honestly that he wants to be friends just like how Bee and Ko are friends.  Son is amused but realizes that Naruto is serious.  He offers to tell Naruto how to defeat his possessed counterpart in the physical world, if only Naruto can undo the chains that bind him.

Bleach  Chapter 478: The Lost 3
Tsukishima, bleeding and crying, shouts at Ginjo, asking why he had to die.  He lamented how Ginjo taught him how to fight, but didn't teach him what to do if he died.  He notices that Shishigawara is standing before him.  From his expression and clenched fist, Tsukishima finally understands what has to happen.  As Yukiio walks away, he is met by Jackie, who he realized has lost her fullbring powers.  Jackie told Yukio that she already buried Giriko, stating that while she hated her powers, she envied that Giriko got to die still possessing his.  Yukio sets off, despite Jackie's behest to stay together for a while.  Yukio tells her to wait three years after he has grown up and made his family's company bigger, letting them work for him then.  Jackie agrees, saying that they will be waiting.  Meanwhile, Rukia watches over Riruka, who has just woken up and is surprised to find that she's alive.  Ichigo tells her that Uruhara had arrived and saved her, but that they couldn't find the others.  Riruka turns and is surprised to find Inoue beside her, crying about the disappearance of the others and expressing how glad she is that Riruka is okay.  Riruka asks about Tsukishima, but Inoue does not remember him.  Riruka cries, although she denies it.  Shishigawara carries Tsukishima, expressing his relief that Tsukishima was still alive, stating that he can't die because he's the strongest.  Tsukishima silently realizes that Ginjo knew what was going to happen all along and thanks Shishigawara, who tells him that it's only natural that he will help Tsukishima because he is his bro.  Dawn breaks, and Tsukishima silently thanks Ginjo, finally realizing that he was never alone.

One Piece  Chapter 651: The Voice from the New World
The banquet finally ends and the Straw Hat Pirates discuss how they can retrieve the treasure stolen from Ragyuu Kingdom which they can claim for themselves as reward.  Meanwhile, Luffy, Zoro and Sanji catch up to Caribou on the main island, beating him up and successfully retrieving the missing treasure.  At the candy factory, the Minister of the Left tries to pacify Big Mom's pirate fighter, Pekoms, who reminds them of the anger they can incur from one of the Four Emperors.  Luffy, Zoro and Sanji arrive, where Luffy inadvertently reveals that they ate the last of the candy.  The Minister of the Left tries to pacify Pekoms, but Luffy unfortunately reiterates eating the candy.  Another of Big Mom's pirate fighter, Baron Tamago, pacifies Pekoms and suggests that the fishmen just deliver the candy the following morning, since the tea party is still a few days away.  Baron Tamago then asks why Luffy ate the candy, informing him that the mark on the candy factory is a sign that the island is under the protection of Big Mom in exchange for ten tons of candy per month.  Meanwhile, on Whole Cake Island, Big Mom excitedly waits for the tea party, where she will finally eat the sweets from Fishman Island.  Bobbin arrives to report that they finished burning one of their former protectorate islands because they weren't able to deliver the promised sweets.  Bobbin also reports that Fishman Island might not be able to deliver their own promised candy.  Back on Fishman Island, the fishmen inform Big Mom's pirates that it will take two weeks for the repairs to the factory to finish.  Baron Tamago tells Luffy, Zoro and Sanji that Big Mom will destroy the island if she doesn't get the candy payment, which angers Luffy since they just saved the island from Hody and Van der Decken.  The direct den den mushi line to Big Mom rings.  Before Pekoms and Baron Tamago could decide who will answer the phone, Luffy picks it up in anger and tells Big Mom that there is no more candy.  He tells her that he ate all the candy, not knowing that it was meant to be compensation for the island's protection.  He offers all of the gold they got in exchange.  Baron Tamago tries to convince Big Mom to give the island two weeks for the sweets and to accept the offer of gold, so they can have their ships repaired.  Big Mom shouts at Baron Tamago, telling him not to compromise against her wishes.  She tells Luffy that she will direct her anger at him, instead of Fishman Island, telling him to come to the new world.  Luffy agrees to her invitation, telling her that he couldn't let her be in charge of Fishman Island anymore.  He tells her that he will kick her ass and make Fishman Island his turf.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!  Chapter 367: A Single Strike
Colonello, temporarily released from his cursed state, has all of the members of Teams Reborn, Yuni and Verde in his scope.  Iemitsu reminds Colonello not to shoot the members of Team Reborn, which they're allied with, but instead just focus on Teams Verde and Yuni.  Tsuna engages Mukuro, who uses Verde's invention to turn his illusions into real objects.  With Tsuna, Gokudera and Yamamoto safely out of the way, Colonello shoots with the Super Soldier Arcobaleno Maximum Rifle, which creates a loud sound that causes the battle over Yuni's mansion to stop momentarily.  The ammunition from the rifle streak off in different directions, hitting all of their targets.  It is revealed that the battle watches of Kikyo, Chikusa and Ken are all destroyed.  Byakuran, Gamma, Mukuro and Flan receive injuries while protecting their battle watches.  Tsuna is confused and he hears his father's voice over their comm line, asking how he is.  Iemitsu tells him to take Gokudera and Yamamoto away, as Colonello will take another shot to take out the battle watches of Mukuro and Byakuran.  Tsuna tells Iemitsu that he can't allow them to target Byakuran because of their alliance, which Iemitsu doesn't care about.  When Tsuna refuses to get out of the way, Iemitsu declares their alliance terminated and tells Tsuna that Team Reborn will be targeted as well.  Meanwhile, fifteen minutes prior to the exchange between Tsuna and Iemitsu, Hibari and Fon arrive at the hotel where Dino is staying.  Fon asks Hibari why he's fixating on Dino, to which the latter responds is because Dino was the first person who wanted to become his mentor, which he had no need for.  As the countdown to the battle is announced, they step off the elevator.  Right in front of Marmon and the rest of the Varia.

Hunter X Hunter  Chapter 330: Confession
Killua struggles to understand how Illumi had known where they would land, as the needle people and Illumi surround him and Aluka.  Illumi asks Killua if he's hiding something else about Aluka, as Killua weighs his escape options.  Tsubone and Amane reveal themselves, with Tsubone revealing that it was her fault that Illumi found out about the airship, because of the transmission of her vision to the Zoldyck matriarch, which was intercepted by Milluki and sent to Illumi, which in turn explains her feeling of being seen.  Since Aluka has seen Tsubone, she asks for the butler's fingernail from her middle finger, which is given to her.  Aluka also asks for the fingernail from her ring finger, which Killua intercepts by catching before it could be given to Aluka.  Tsubone tells Killua to state his wish, as she and Amane takes care of the cleanup of the enemies, in recompense for causing Killua delay in his journey.  Illumi challenges Killua to make a decision because of the rule that he can't make multiple wishes in a row.  Hisoka watches, debating whether he should kill Aluka and be hated by Killua or spare Aluka and become enemies with Illumi.  Illumi further challenges Killua to make a wish if he knows of an exception and kill Illumi so he can save Gon, silently adding that doing so will make Killua suffer for the rest of his life thinking about Illumi.  With tears in his eyes, Killua makes his wish.  He wishes for Tsubone's hand to be healed, to which It agrees to do.  Killua teaches It to touch what it needs to heal.  Killua explains to them that making It heal will cause no backlash, and that the one who are cursed are actually the ones who make wishes.  Illumi finally backs off, now that he knows that healing Gon will not cause Killua nor the Zoldyck family any backlash, but he still expresses concern that Killua knows more than he lets on and that Aluka is still dangerous.  Illumi tells Killua that unless he tells him everything, Aluka will never be free.  Killua silently answers that if they knew the truth, they would try to control him with needles again just to stop him.  Meanwhile, Teradain makes a public announcement to get people to vote and to inform them about Bushidora's death.  He also announces that he has asked Morau to replace Bushidora, to which Morau declines publicly.  Hisoka assassinates Teradain.  The next election reaches the voting quota, and they move on to the next phase with electing among the top four.  The four candidates are Pariston, Leorio, Cheadle and Mizaistom. 

Fairy Tail  Chapter 264: Only Time Enough to Pass By
As promised by Ultear, using the "Arc of Time" to draw from the "Second Origin" will be painful to the participant, as proven by Natsu's torment, which Lucy and Gray watch in chagrin and all of the others dreading their turn.  Erza and Jellal talk about remembering his past, with Jellal expressing guilt at killing Simon and everything else he did before.  Jellal offers to throw away his life for Erza to honor Simon, but she reminds him that it wouldn't be what Simon would want for them.  He is unable to confirm if he created the Crime Sorciere to atone for his sins, causing Erza to slap him, berating him for not wanting to live.  Erza tells him that he is unlike the Jellal she knew, but she slips and they fall into a large plant.  Jellal agrees with her words and she cries, telling him she though she would never see him again.  As memories of their past, both good and bad, flash through their minds, Erza and Jellal kiss.  Then Jellal pushes her away, saying that he has a fiancee.  Embarrassed, Erza congratulates him and asks if his fiancee important to him.  When he assents, Erza tells him to live for her.  As night falls, the members of Fairy Tail suffer through the activation of their powers from the "Second Origin".  Erza, however, is perfectly fine and thanks the Crime Sorciere trio, who have to leave because they can't stay long.  Reminding Erza about the mysterious power that they need to investigate, the three bid her goodbye, with Jellal giving her a silent look of farewell.  As the three make camp, Meredy asks Jellal why he made up a story about having a fiancee.  Jellal tells them that punishment was one of the reasons why they agreed to create Crime Sorciere, and that he can't love someone who walks the path of light, claiming that he'll be fine as long as Erza is happy.  Meanwhile, Erza silently calls Jellal a liar, revealing that she knew that he had no fiancee.


History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi  Chapter 458: Jenazad's Expectations
Jenazad watches as Sakaki and Hongo engage both his and Nuchald's forces.  The unlikely tag team is unbeatable as they defeat all of the soldiers that are in the way.  Excited by what he is witnessing, Jenazad releases his ki, which both Sakaki and Hongo sense immediately.  Jenazad hides his ki and instructs his man to pull out, bringing Kenichi with them in order to complete Miu's conversion to the dark side and leaving behind the men who followed them.  Sakaki leaves Hongo to deal with the soldiers, while he checks on where they sensed Jenazad's ki.  He finds the soldier that Lona protected, who tells him where Kenichi is.  Afterwards, the fighting has stopped.  Lona asks her people to return to their homes and let her rebuild the country, while telling Jenazad's supporters from other countries to leave as well.  She thanks Hongo for his help.  Hongo remains stoic, as his people explain to the princess that he is a silent man.  Princess Lona seems to find the quality attractive.  Sakaki is troubled by the events, now that both Kenichi and Miu are with the enemy.  One of the mercenaries inform them that John is on the radio, reporting that he is following Kenichi, because of a tracking device that he created and gave to Kenichi to use.  However, John is extremely loud with his report, and he finds himself surrounded by enemy forces.  Hongo's people are able to track John's location before the communication cut off.  Meanwhile, as Miu is being given a bath, she gets flashes of Kenichi's face in her mind.  Kenichi wakes up in captivity.  Jenazad continues Miu's brainwashing, telling her that Kenichi is an enemy who was part of the people who took away her precious thing.


The World God Only Knows  Chapter 171: For a Few Lovers More
Katsuragi and Elsie watch the pillar of light.  The members of Vintage fly near parts of the wall surronding the pillar that are emitting movement and sound from egg like structures.  Suddenly, Elsie's sensor sounds an alarm and Katsuragi takes the two of them under water, giving Elsie her instructions.  They leave the strange cave, with Katsuragi urging Elsie to keep flying and get them as far away from there as fast as possible.  Nikaido Yuri, Katsuragi's homeroom teacher, and Rimyuel, also known as Kurakawa Akari, observe their escape and they speculate if the two were discovered by Vintage.  Katsuragi and Elsie arrive at school, where they discuss what happened.  Elsie tells Katsuragi that the egg like shapes contained level 4 weiss or mature runaway spirits, confirming that Vintage is trying to raise the weiss to maturity without having to implant them in women who will bear them in the future.  Katsuragi speculates on the different pieces of information he has gathered so far, telling Elsie that something is about to happen.  He also tells her that it has nothing to do with him, berating himself for following a useless route and telling Elsie that he can't fight because he's just a gamer.  He tells her to go back to acting as Kanon, ignoring her questions on why he would do nothing when he already knows so much.  Meanwhile, Ayumi approaches Chihiro, who is practicing, and tries to talk to her about Katsuragi, but instead just tells her that they should enjoy the festival.  Ayumi is troubled by her thoughts of Katsuragi, suddenly finding herself face to face with him.  They stare at each other as the Mai High festival begins.
