Compared to last year, this year's spring TV series viewing list is rather short. Most of it is due to the fact that many of the shows that premiered last winter didn't take another break, focusing on building up on the recently concluded February sweeps and just carrying over into spring.
Of the shows that premiered last fall, only Revolution and Grimm will be returning to start their mid-season runs after prolonged hiatuses. The Voice and Game of Thrones are the only shows offering new season runs.
While I don't normally pay as much attention to series premieres that are set during the spring, there are three titles that caught my attention. A&E's Bates Motel features the awesome Vera Farmiga as the infamous Mrs. Bates, who shaped Psycho's Norman Bates (played by the also great Freddie Highmore). But the casting coup would have to go to NBC's Hannibal, which will feature the excitingly creepy Mads Mikkelsen as the titular character (see the poster below). It also helps that Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Gina Torres and Gillian Anderson are also part of the cast.
Again, the dates below are the US premiere schedule, so local TV fans from the Philippines will have to add plus one to day and date. Those marked with * are series premieres.
