On canceled TV weekend plans and sad TV news

I had a plan.

On account of last week's Thanksgiving holiday in the US, I received my Thursday and Friday article assignments on Wednesday night.  The plan was to finish everything on Thursday, so I can have an extra day to catch-up on my anime and TV series viewing list (I was behind on the former, while waaaayyyy behind on the latter).  My last option was to finish the Air Gear manga and cross it from my catch-up list.

Unfortunately, the upcoming Christmas season and the whacked out Manila weather had other plans for me.

Half of my weekend was spent going out with Marvin to look for Christmas gifts.  It's great that we know what we want to get for our friends.  It's less great when you go to the stores where you can supposedly find them, and learn that they are out of stock, in limited quantities, or in horrible conditions.  And that's the productive half of my extended weekend.

The other half of the weekend was spent dealing with my sudden illness.  The weather has been weird, with the afternoons unbearably hot and wreaking havoc on my immune system.  I spent the weekend sniffling and coughing, and was in such a terrible state that I couldn't even muster the energy to stay in bed and watch something to cheer me up.  I just stared off into space and  grumbled about my poor health.  It was that bad.

I entered the work week feeling less than recharged and hoped for a better weekend after all that.

Unfortunately, getting two pieces of TV news won't make it easy on my physical and mental (probably emotional, too) recuperation.  First, the current season of Merlin is the series's last.  And second, the production on the third season of Sherlock was pushed back, so the earliest we can potentially watch it is in fall 2013 (that's a whole year away!).

I'd probably have an easier time taking these news if I still weren't spewing mucous and phlegm like there's no tomorrow (gross, I know, but I'm sharing the misery and too sick to care).

I guess what I'm really saying is... I don't have a new or more interesting blog post for you because I'm too sick.  And now, because of the Merlin and Sherlock news, I'm too depressed to be my usual happy couch potato self.

I'm off to console myself with copious amounts of salabat, and long hours of staring at pictures of Colin Morgan and Benedict Cumberbatch.
