Peps' Reading List: Weekly Manga Update

Here's this week's manga update from my reading list.

Fangirl alert on the big three manga.  Kakashi and Gai finally make an appearance in Naruto.  Ichigo's resolve has changed Soul Society's way of thinking after a million years in Bleach.  The biggest reveal for me, though, is the full circle of the storyline that started with Crocodile in One Piece.  I never would have thought that Poseidon, the Ancient Weapon that is in all of the poneglyph, would turn out to be Princess Shirahoshi.  Which means there will be a new super duper awesome giant arc (which may or may not start immediately)!

Spoilers ahead!  This post contains detailed summaries.  So if you would prefer to read them yourself, please visit your favorite scanlation sites, or buy the manga to support the mangakas.

Naruto  Chapter 566: Eyes and Beasts
The eight tailed beast Ko has been release so he can remove the trees that was blocking Bee's line of vision, which will enable Bee to properly mount an attack against the former Jinchuuriki.  The Jinchuuriki are blown away and Naruto holds on.  Meanwhile, Nara is updated on the events on the battlefield at the headquarters.  He asks for progress reports on the different squads who are finishing their respective battles with shinobi under the influence of Edo Tensei.  He commands that the squads 1, 2, 3 and 5 to assist Naruto and Bee once they are done.  Naruto watches in awe at the destruction Ko wreaked.  They see the former Jinchuuriki lying on the ground and they use the opportunity to seal them.  Ko belches out ink clones and uses the Octopus Hold to freeze them in place, so they can pull out the chakra receivers.  But before they could be frozen, Madara, who was hiding underground, made them release the tailed beasts and power up.  All the former Jinchuuriki set after Naruto, Bee and Ko, overwhelming the three with a barrage of attacks.  As Ko makes the suggestion to retreat, he is attacked, giving Tobi the chance to touch Naruto.  As he touches Naruto, Tobi is suddenly attacked with the Super Konoha Adamantine Cyclone courtesy of Kakashi and Gai.

Bleach  Chapter 476: The Lost
Ginjo releases his own Bankai.  Ginjo reminds Ichigo that he once told him that he and the Xcution members were those who had parents that were attacked by Hollows before they were born, revealing to Ichigo that he also has Hollow powers in him.  Ichigo is unfazed by the information, instead telling Ginjo to fight him so they can finally end the battle.  Ichigo and Ginjo meet in an explosive clash.  Byakuya, Hatsugaya, Ikkaku and Kenpachi walk away from the spectacle, to Rukia's confusion.  Byakuya reminds her that their objective was to see that Ichigo made his decision.  He also reminds Rukia that they had always known that a Substitute Shinigami would call Ginjo's attention, who they needed to lure out.  It is revealed that the original plan was to kill the Substitute Shinigami and Ginjo, but that Soul Society had changed when Ichigo came to their lives.  With Ichigo's choice, the Shinigami's task is done and they believe that he will be able to handle things on his own.  Hatsugaya expresses that he is glad that Ichigo was the one who followed Ginjo, because they ended up with the best possible result.  Rukia realizes to herself that Ichigo never changed, and that his resolve had wiped clean the rigidity of Soul Society, which had endured for one million years.  Rukia watches Ichigo's battle with Ginjo.  Ginjo wonders why Ichigo didn't even disagree with his words.  He wonders why Ichigo's eyes made him feel that he was trying to understand Ginjo.  As he doubts himself, Ichigo is able to strike him.
