Peps' Reading List: Weekly Manga Update

Here's this week's manga update from my reading list.

Naruto  Chapter 564: No One
Naruto literally clashes head on with the masked Madara.  He is thrown back from the force of impact and Killer Bee catches him.  Madara's companions immediately attacks Naruto and Killer Bee.  Naruto and Killer Bee receive a barrage of attacks, including "Magma Element Blazing Boulder Stream", "Water Element Water Mirror Technique", "Water Element Bubble Boom Technique" and "Secret Technique Scale Camouflage".  The eight tailed beast recognizes one of Madara's companions, realizing that they were all former Jinchuuriki whose eyes are implanted with a Rinnegan and Sharingan each.  Naruto notices that Madara's eyes are the same, now that his mask has two holes on it, commenting that he was hiding the Rinnegan, just like the real Madara was.  The masked Madara is surprised about Naruto's knowledge, realizing that Kabuto have used the real Madara in the war.  The masked Madara laughs and tells them that he doesn't care if they call him Madara or Tobi.  Naruto asks who he is, and he answers that he is no one.  He also tells them that all he wants is to complete the Moon's Eye plan, telling them that they should understand the world's misery after suffering as Jinchuuriki.  Naruto tells him that being a Jinchuuriki isn't all bad.  Naruto and Killer Bee declare that they will stop Tobi, who in turn declares that he will capture them both to complete the Moon's Eye plan.

Bleach  Chapter 474: Believe
Urahara and Isshin watch over Inoue and Sado, who have started to settle down.  Urahara asks Tessai to watch over them, and Isshin asks him where he is headed.  He tells Urahara that he will go with him, but is told that he is useless as he was.  Isshin tells him that they should help end Ichigo's fight, before he finds out.  Urahara tells him that they should let Ichigo know the truth, even if it did come from Ginjo.  Meanwhile, Ichigo is confused after hearing Ginjo tell him that he is not the enemy Ichigo should be fighting.  Ichigo initially refuses to listen, thinking that it's an effort to shake his resolve, which Ishida seconds.  Ginjo asks Ichigo why he thinks they were given the shinigami representative badges.  He reminds Ichigo about the words said when he was presented with the badge, which is that it is awarded to those who have become a "benefit" to Soul Society.  He tells Ichigo that it's a lie, which Ishida agrees with silently, thinking about what happens to those who are not beneficial.  Ginjo tells Ichigo that the badge is called the "Substitute Shinigami Combat Approval License" but actually offers bearers no authority.  He reveals that the badge's true purpose is to monitor and restrict the bearer, reminding Ichigo that he could not use his reiatsu in human form, but had his powers rampage when angered in his shinigami form.  He reminds Ichigo on how his reiatsu rushed out of the badge when he developed his fullbring powers, and told him that he heard his friends' voices because the badge was actually a surveillance device.  He tells Ichigo that the man who came up with the plan was Ukitake Jushirou, captain of the 13th division, who had given Ichigo his badge.  Ginjo tells Ichigo that Ukitake created the badge to control them and execute them if they rebelled against Soul Society.  Ishida is troubled at how Ginjo's words is affecting Ichigo and tries to tell his friend not to listen.  Ichigo shouts at him to shut up and activates his Bankai.

One Piece  Chapter 647: Stop Noah
The Straw Hat Pirates and Jinbei on Fishman Island defeat the top commanders of the fishmen pirates, who are shocked at the strength of the humans.  The citizens watch in joy at their success, but before they can even cry out in celebration, realize that there's a large shadow overhead.  They are shocked at how close Noah has come towards them.  The fishmen pirates run away.  Some of the citizens shout if there's nothing Luffy can do to save them.  The Straw Hat pirates and Jinbei just look at Noah, not making any move to run away.  The citizens refuse to run away, believing that Luffy can destroy Noah in time to save Fishman Island.  Everyone shouts their encouragement as Luffy continues his barrage of attacks.  King Neptune silently wills Luffy to succeed, apologizing to Joy Boy for not being able to fulfill the promise.  Luffy continues his punches, when he hears Shirahoshi telling him to stop and blocks him from punching the ark further.  Luffy shouts at her to get out of the way, so they can save Fishman Island.  Shirahoshi tells him that Noah has stopped its descent.  Luffy realizes that the sea kings have stopped the descent by holding on to the ark's chains.  Luffy, with his wounds worsened because of his efforts, expresses his gratefulness that the island is saved and collapses.  The sea kings commends the strength of the humans and expresses their happiness that they were able to save the island on time, revealing that it was Shirahoshi's strength that drew them there.  The fishmen in the air tank announces to everyone that the sea kings have stopped Noah, which is still intact, and that they have been saved.  All of Fishman Island and the Straw Hat Pirates rejoice at the news.


Katekyo Hitman Reborn!  Chapter 363: The Threat Team
Reborn's team gets together to discuss the events of the first battle.  Tsuna, Gokudera, Yamamoto, Ryohei and Dino all have sour expressions on their faces.  Ryohei is the first one to report his loss courtesy of Hibari.  Reborn asks Gokudera and Yamamoto what happened next, since they were present at the time.  After Ryohei's defeat, Hibari challenged both of them.  Yamamoto suggested that they team up, which Gokudera reluctantly agrees to.  Gokudera called out Uri to activate his Cambio Forma and released a smoke screen, giving him and Yamamoto a chance to escape.  Hibari tried to run after them, but his flame winks out.  Fon pointed out that Yamamoto had activated the "Rondine di Pioggia" to mix with Gokudera's smoke screen, creating a tranquility effect that negated Hibari's flame.  Yamamoto finishes his recount of the events, while Gokudera confronts Dino on why Hibari ended up on Fon's team.  Dino apologizes, saying that Hibari told him that he will give his answer on the first day of the Representative Battle.  Reborn then asks Tsuna, who tells them that he lost to his dad and wonders why his dad didn't destroy his boss watch.  Reborn tells that the Iemitsu didn't destroy his watch in exchange for teaming up with Reborn's team, which was Iemitsu's plan in the first place.  Tsuna mulls at the idea, but a voice suddenly spoke through their watches.  The voice reveals himself to be the proprietor of the "Representative Battle of the Rainbow", Checker Face.  Checker Face tells them that battle rankings will be shown from the watches after each battle.  Everyone is astounded at the results, which reveals that Verde and Mukuro's team has already defeated five opponents.

Hunter X Hunter  Chapter 326: The Opening of Battle
Since the last preliminary election yielded the required 95% votes, it is finally time to move on to the next phase of elections.  The hunters will now have to choose between the top 16 candidates, which includes Pariston, Cheadle, Leorio, Botobai, Mizaistom, Ickshonpay Kaztouger, Teradin Neutral, Morau, Saccho, Biscuit, St. Bika Norton, Rinne Hors-d'Oeuvre, Lupe Highland, Bushidora Ambitious, Cutie Beauty and Ging.  While checking the results of the preliminary elections, Killua wonders how infamous Ging was for the people to want to vote Leorio for punching him.  As Gotoh hands him the phone to talk to Illumi, Killua also reflects on the Zoldyck family dynamic.  He also notices that Amane suddenly became anxious when Illumi's name was mentioned, confirming that Illumi has his own plan, which could be to kill Aluka.  Killua talks to Illumi, confirming his suspicions about Illumi's plans.  Killua challenges Illumi, stating that he will beat his brother at his own game.  Illumi tells him that he will start.  Their car suddenly meets with trouble, as a truck and another car heads straight towards them.  Canary, who is driving, struggles to control the car to avoid crashing.  Gotoh instructs Killua to stay close to Aluka, or risk being returned to the family estate if they get separated for more than one meter.  Their car is rammed and falls off the side of the cliff.  Illumi and Hisoka watches the crash, and Hisoka asks why Illumi did not negotiate as he originally planned.  Illumi replies that negotiating was futile, especially since he feels that Killua knows more about Aluka's rules than he let on to the family.  He instructs Hisoka to eliminate the butlers and take Aluka when the chance comes up.  Hisoka jokes if he can kill Killua, which prompts Illumi to release his killing aura in anger at the comment.  Killua senses the aura, which causes Illumi to ask Hisoka if he set him up to feel angry.  Hisoka denies it, but silently comments that he wants to save Gon, too.  Killua and the butlers try to come up with a plan to get out of the woods.  Amane swears to Killua that the butlers are at his service to protect him, but Killua tells her that he will only consider her words to be true if Aluka was also included in their duty to protect.

Fairy Tail  Chapter 260: Now We're Aiming for the Top
Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Happy and Charle are shocked at Wendy's revelation that Porylusica had the same voice and smell as sky dragon Grandine.  Natsu is eager to return to the old woman's house, but Gray and Lucy consider the timeline of events, revealing that Porylusica had been friends with Makarov for many years, which would overlap with the time Wendy was being raised by Grandine.  Wendy also realizes that Porylusica's demeanor is completely different to that of Grandine's, who showed great love for humans.  Porylusica appears and tells Wendy that she is not Grandine.  She reveals that she has the same voice and smell as Grandine, because she is the Grandine from the parallel world of Edolas.  She had been stranded in their world for many decades, but chose not to return even if she could have gotten Makarov's help.  She also reveals that she talked to Grandine, who had contacted her by speaking to her heart.  Porylusca gives Wendy written spells that Grandine left for her to learn, the air magic "Milky Way" and "Shining Wave - Air Drill".  Wendy thanks Porylusica profusely and is overjoyed at Grandine's gift.  Porylusica walks away with a smile on her face.  The group returns to the Fairy Tail guild headquarters, only to find Macao and Romeo fighting.  Romeo tells Natsu and the others about the festival that was created to determine the number one guild in Fiore, which the other guild members were adamantly refusing to join.  The festival is called the "Dai-Matou Enbu" or the Grand Magic Games.  The group from Tenrou Island become excited at the thought of turning Fairy Tail the number one guild in Fiore once again.  Makarov initially feels hesitant, but is convinced when told that the prize is 30,000,000 jewel.  They are told that the event will happen in 3 months, giving them time to build their strength for the festival.  The Fairy Tail guild is fired up to join the Dai-Matou Enbu to regain their lost glory.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi  Chapter 454: Oath of the Queen
Radin Tidat Lona introduces herself as the true successor of Tidat Kingdom.  Kenichi and Sakaki are told that the Tidat Kingdom is being ripped apart by Jenazad.  Lona tells them about the kingdom's history, starting with the time when Jenazad was still the hero of Tidat Kingdom.  When the UN started to take over the kingdom, Jenazad led a team called "The Jungle Guerilla Unit" to defeat the enemy forces.  He led the unit on different battlefronts, defeating the enemy without using any weapon.  Lona tells them that after the war was over, Jenazad remained unsatisfied, conducting experiments and sacrificing his own people.  His reputation eventually caused the people of Tindat Kindom to be led by fear.  Lona once again makes her offer to work with Kenichi and Sakaki to take Jenazad down.  Sakaki notes that the palace is crumbling and that the guard mercenaries are only for show.  He tells Lona that if she intends to use them in a power struggle, then he refuses.  Batouan tells them that all Lona wants is to save her own people from the seeds of conflict Jenazad planted in order for him to flourish.  Batouan bows to Sakaki to plead for his help, but Lona tells him that he shouldn't be the one to lower his head.  The princess removes her coronet and kneels in front of Sakaki.  Batouan, Sham and even Kenichi cry at the humble act.  Sakaki agrees to help, but also reveals a spy listening in on their conversation.  The spy, who was actually the man pretending to be Jenazad's father, gets away and makes his report, prompting Jenazad to declare that he will defeat Sakaki.

The World God Only Knows  Chapter 167: Wham
Katsuragi resorts to telling Chihiro hurtful words in order to save the conquest of the goddess.  He tells Chihiro that all of it was a joke, in retaliation for all the hurtful things she said about him.  He tells Chihiro to stay away from him, prompting her to run away.  As he watch her go down the stairs from the roof, he hears Ayumi call out his name.  Katsuragi is surprised at Ayumi's appearance, who is angry at his deception and asks him why he hurt Chihiro.  Katsuragi tells her that he's been lying to himself and that he realized who the most important person to him is.  Before he can say the name, Ayumi kicks him.  Ayumi calls him the worst and runs down the stairs as well.  Ayumi cries to herself in the changing room, beating herself up over going up the roof to watch Katsuragi and Chihiro.  Mercury asks her why she's crying over a man she already gave up, commenting that humans are inefficient.  Katsuragi wallows while taking a bath, when Diana arrives, asking how the goddess hunting is going.  He tells her it's fine, since there's only one goddess left.  Diana tells him there are still two goddesses and asks him to bring out her wings.  She tells him that she is reporting that she has also fallen in love with Katsuragi, saying that her wings won't come out because she is feeling guilt over falling in love with same man Tenri is in love with.  She removes her clothes and steps in the bathtub in her swimsuit, asking him to love Tenri, before she falls in love with him further.
